2013 "Barners fall tour"

Hey guys, the oldest brewery in the US is near by....I'm sure Phil will remember. I'm thinking my 49 would look good with trainguy's 51.

This will be a fun event. Great touring area, Since Phil is using a hub hotel it will be nice to return "home" each night. Can not wait for the itinerary. These events take a lot of planning so thanks Phil.

Yes. Many thanks to Phil. I do know what it takes to put one these tours together. The Maine tour was fun doing in both aspects, planning and doing.

Beer is good:D
Hmmm. I may have to transplant an 8BA into the Courier just so it conforms to the group better. NOT!!!

I am back from my 50th wedding aniv.trip to HI.Next week I plan to start mapping out the tour routes.Plan on 100-200 mile days.Possible destinations include Yenegling brewery in Pottsville,Pa, state train museum in Straussburg,ACCA museum in Hershey,Steam Town in Scranton come to mind.At night you are invited to my home to socialize and mabe make repairs and adjustments to the Fords.Next week I will publish motel info.Phil.484-464-8932 cell

Phil,
Well, happy anniversary to you folks.
We will be awaiting info on the tour. Sure sounds like a good time. Now, as far as making repairs/adjustments at your garage, We can just have Chuck do them in a parking lot like he did before:D. Might be nice to see your machine shop also. We will be signing up when info is available.
Thanks
John

That would be great. Now that I have my foot in the door, here is a stretch.. Maybe you could program a bakelite (?) insulator for under the carb. Now for a real stretch, maybe we could go down to your local wharf and get some fresh lobsters off the boat like we did on the Maine tour;).
John

A wharf in central PA with lobsters? I'm thinking that ain't happening. Maybe some Penn dutch shoe fly pie. I am defineately up for a tour of Blue Mountian Machine.

Sounds like a great time. I wish I could come along. If you guys end up making it to the Hershey AACA museum and the time works out, you're welcome to make a quick stop at my shop for a visit. I am in Grantville, which is only about 7 or 8 miles away.

Also, I can make room for repairs if anyone needs at any point. I'm right off exit 80 from rt81.

Zach, that's a very nice offer. I see no reason why you could not join in unless Phil has reached the limit he set in his original post or maybe your schedule would not allow you the time. Some of us enjoy traditional hotrods as much as we enjoy original early Fords.

Thanks John,
Its more of a time and money issue then anything else. I appreciate the offer though with a "hot rod" ;)

Zach,
When the itinerary is announced, check it out. Maybe just join us for the day. I suspect that we will pick up other flatheads to cruise with us for the day when we are in their area.

John, I may have one of those carb spacers on the shelf. I made up a few out of corian to use as heat blockers. You'll have to get some longer studs, and gaskets. Let me know. As far as the lobsters go I can't help!!

Phil,

Your email address came back undeliverable...

My wife and I are looking forward to the tour. Quick question, should we plan
to arrive on the 17th ready to go on the 18th or arrive on the 18th? Similarly
depart on the 22nd or 23rd? I'm wanting to make hotel reservations.

By the way, wonderful spot for ice cream in Strausburg not far from the RR
Museum. We do Troops & Trains there each year.
