Putting on a cowl band !

I can't think of anything I hate worse when working on Walter, than putting on the cowl band. Why such a tight spot there by the clutch pedal...AAAAAGH. I can barely hold on to the nut to even get it started. I sure wish the threaded rod was just a tiny bit longer. It's back on , but what a chore.

Those guys installing them in the factory were paid $5.00 a DAY and worked like they were replaceable! Just think how many they did in a day.

LOL Good Point! But they probably had some of Henry Ford's special tools to do it with! The worst job I ever did was in a similar place on my Cessna. Any A and P's will agree that getting at the lower motor mount nuts, inside the cabin, Is one of the worst.
