Removing Old Adhesive

What's the best way to remove old weatherstrip adhesive from the door frames on my car without ruining the original paint? I tried using gas but it doesn't touch it. Thanks Guy's!

Try using 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner p/n 08094. Can be gotten at most auto parts stores.

You might try WD 40 , I have used it, it won't hurt the paint; it's a slow job but will work with time ..

Ether removes adhesive and the cheapest available is plain old starting fluid.

A heat gun and spray starting fluid on it .

Please don't spray the starting fluid on the heat gun. It'll remove the adhesive but it uses the flame thrower method. I'd try goo gone. It works great and you don't need heat.

All of the proposed solutions may work, but the 3M adhesive remover is safe and works very well.

Well done I wonder if someone would pick up on that ,If you want to turn your car into charcoal .
