Windshield Visor

I have a Model A windshield visor in very good shape, even painted, but I have no use for it. How do I figure out what it should fit so I can give it away for the cost of shipping. It is NOT the type used on pickups, that much I know.

Well, I can tell you it's not for a slant windshield. :D

It looks like it would fit a 30-1 Tudor and Fordor, but others will know for sure.:)

So, this visor should fit any Model A except pickups and slant windows? (I would think that Tom could make it fit on a slant window!) Are all the same between 1928 - 1931?

No, the 1928-9 visor is covered with roof fabric, though many people fail to do this when they restore or paint the car.

I'm surprized someone hasn't jumped on your offer.

Looks like the one on my Std 1929 coupe. A couple of pictures of the ends would give a better idea.

Guess it may not be a 1929 std coupe, at least it does not look like the one I have on it now.

Ben, if you are in the Oregon area with this visor and want to see if it fits, give me a note.

P.S. don't look at the terrible job of rebuilding this machine-I bought it that way and it is only a driver.

Fred, Yes, I was going to bring it to Oregon in July, and then do something with it. Preferably give it to someone that really needs it, and is correct for their vehicle. I would enjoy meeting you very much. Send me a PM with your phone # and I will get in touch after the 10th of July.

It is NOT a 1930-1931 Coupe,Tudor, 4door, pickup visor. If you could provide some closer pictures, we could identify it positivly.

I've been around Model A's for over 45 years and have never seen one like that on a Model A. 1928-29 sunvisors that are covered with fabric do not have a raised molded bottom edge. 1929-31 sunvisors that are painted and have a raised molded bottom edge, the bottom edge turns down as it meets the body. The top rear edge that nails to the wood header does not look like either style.

Why do you think it is a Model A sunvisor?

Thank you for the information on sunvisors. I will post more pictures later today. The only reason I have for thinking it is Model A, is that it was on my Model A Pickup when I bought it in 1960, and it is the right length for the cab. I would hate to send it to someone, and have them find out it is not for their vehicle.
