Parade was a blast

Went in my first parade today. I was the Memorial Day Parade here in Michigan..I have to say it was probably one of the best things i've ever done. I ran in first gear pretty much all the way for 2 miles. People packed on each side of the street yelling and waving. the ahhoooga horn was used more than i ever have before and people loved it.
 
Parades can be a lot of fun, especially with grandchildren!

Awesome! We like to invite friends to drive our car while we ride in the rumble seat and throw candy. Parades can be a blast!

Throwing candy out to the street has been banned in many parades.
This is because several kids have been hurt, when they ran out, in front of cars, to get to the candy.
I used to throw it, but I wouldn't dare, now. I never thought of that happening, but it has.

This was banned by the city council of Manzanita, Oregon, a few years ago (my photo above). The first year of the ban the mayor was the grand marshal. Guess who was throwing candy while all the kids riding in the parade were obeying the ban and forbidden from doing it? :rolleyes:
 
Banned... Yeah, I know all that. But many small-town parades in Colorado still encourage it. Despite our recent craziness, we're still mostly level-headed folks.
 
My daughter ( 11 year old ) rode in the rumble seat and threw candy. She said she felt like a princess. She tells me all the time , when she gets old enough to drive she is getting a car like mine.....Makes me proud.
