Well all the hard work has payed off very nicely went to a local car show Saturday it was a BLAST!!! I went to a new A model friends garage Saturday morning and he helped me set the newly installed complete brake system and showed me how to do some improvements that I could work on to maybe start touring some locally in the near future. We had taken the car over to his place on the trailer so on the way back home we knew of the local show in the town that I work in so we stopped A few miles up the road and unloaded and drove it down and had a great time! It was the first time the Wife has ridden in a Model A(well a complete one not test drives in the yard with most stuff missing!) and she had a great time! So I am sure this is going to be a repeat thing for her! There was only about 40 cars there I almost took the prize for the oldest there but a 25 T came in and beat me out for that slot also a 30 A coupe was there but in didn't matter for the trophy had a great time just to be there with my A!! I am very thankful for the A model folks that I have meet near where I live and to all the Ford Barners that I have meet and for all the help that they have provided for me here on Fordbarn. Thanks to all Robert DeBord now to more SHOWS!!!!

"Beautiful car. Nice job. Now; drive it, show it and enjoy it!"

Unless it's raining or looks like rain. Right Bill!!!!!!!!!

Nice looking sedan. Just bet you and the family will enjoy the "new" Model A.

That is a beautiful tudor Robert.Glad to see your enjoying the A so much. Also glad to here your wife is joining you,you two will have a great times together.I know its a lot more fun when the wife i along.:D

:DRobert......very nice and glad your doin the show thing. Most Model "A" guys in these parts are insulted becausethey have to pay $15 -$20 bucks to enter, so they don't participate. They just don't seem to understand it takes money for dash placques, trophies, door prizes etc. Granted there are many that are no cost drop in cruis-ins that are just as much fun.

Hello Tacoma Bob that is true a lot of guys don't want to pay for the entry but it does cost "somebody" for all the stuff that is given away at the shows if they don"t have support from local businesses that give away there products for advertisement. We are lucky in my hometown of Church Hill, Tennessee once a year all the local Churches, business, City staff, local Volunteer Fire Depts. get together and we have what we call a Community Celebration Day we close up part of the town and we have a big pig roast, car show, this year we had 4 different bands playing different types of music all different kinds of games for the kids young and the young at heart every type of food, drinks and snacks you can think of to eat it starts midday and lasts all evening long and the best thing about it is it is all FREE!!!!! Does not cost you a thing just show up and have a great time!!! We take care of each other in this small town and that is why this is a great place to be from I wish other towns would get there community together for fun days like this and care about there friends and neighbors like we use to in the past now a days you don't even know the folks that live next door to you the world would not have as many problems as we do if we all could do this, well just my thoughts....well thanks to all Robert

Nice car!
The best part of displaying my Model A at a car show is meeting new people and hearing their stories. Stories like: The model A was the car I first learned to drive or When I was little, I used to lay up on the package tray like in your coupe while riding with my parents. One older woman asked me if my coupe had a rumble seat? I replied "no, I have a trunk". She went on to tell me that she lost her virginity in a rumble seat of a car that looked like mine!
Yikes! I wanted to change the subject fast and asked her what color the car was?

Great job, nice tudor. Glad to hear that your taking it to shows. When I take mine to shows it's like a time machine. All the old timers stop by to tell me about the time they had one. I've heard some great stories and I always look forward to hearing more. I never get tired of hearing them. I never sit in the background. I'm always up front looking for someone that is interested in my Model A. So far the funniest story was when two older woman, I would guess in there early 80's or so, were talking to me, and one told the other that my Model A reminded her of the first time she had sex in a Model A. You know??? Sometimes there is way, way too much information. But funny never the less. Good luck with your Model A, and enjoy every mile!

I remember the first time I had sex in a.... Or wait a minute that was at home. At any rate I remember it. I've never been so scared. It was dark and I was all alone. I guess maybe I should have been with those ladies in those Model A's. Maybe I'd of lost my virginity before I was 46 years old. Is this too much information? Gotta go the wife is calling.

Yes car shows are an interesting experience. Like mentioned above it is interesting to listen to all the stories about "The old Model A was the-------" first car, grandfather's car, etc..etc.. I think the most interesting is to see the little guys come by that are maybe 8 or 9 and they say "COOL CAR". May as well get the younger ones interested in the old Model A. But the shows are good places to meet other people that have similar interests.

Very funny garrison. I would bet that these older woman would have rocked your socks off. I'm sure they were pretty hot in there twenties.
