Painted the wheels

What kind of paint did you paint over? Did you remove most of the old paint? I like the black also. I currently have two black wheels and two green wheels on my coupe. I want to get them all the same color one of these days and it sounds like your method may do the trick. BTW don't ask me why I have two different color wheels on the coupe. It is a longgggg story.

I had a friend many years ago who had two different color wheels on his A; driver's side had red; passenger side apple green. He wasn't just too lazy to repaint them but was smart enough to say, "Hey, you can only see one side at a time!"

Fred, I know of a Vicky that is that way from NEW! The wife was too cheap to pay $5.00 per wheel to paint them, she growled to the hubby, "NOT ON MY SIDE"! So he had his side ONLY painted Apple Green. (TRUE STORY) Bill W.

There was actually two coats of paint on the wheels. Under the cream was a gold color that had been on the truck at one point. I only stripped one wheel down to bare metal because it was in bad shape. The rest of the wheels I hit with a wire brush on a drill to get the loose paint off and rough it up and then I used a coarse Scotch Brite pad and then a finer Scotch Brite pad on all the wheels both back and front and spokes.

I personally like the black. I plan on changing my '29 coupe wheels from cream color to black and also rid the white wall tires at the same time. Thanks for sharing.

I messed up when I put the wheels back on. I put two green on the black and 2 back on the front. Should had done like this guy and I could have gotten by for years.

By the nature of posting two colors, it's implied that he wants opinions!:D:p LOL
TomTom, Dog:cool: here, Implied or Assumed can get you into a heap of trouble! The wheel guy didn't ask, "Like, whadda' you think"? He had made up his mind 2 1/2 weeks ago. Tom, what would you say if a redhead asked, "You like my hair better than the OLD color"? Wrong answer & you might not be posting anymore, as you couldn't see the keyboard or the morning sun through them shiners!!:( Dang, where's my coffee mug? Buster T.
