Tail light wiring

Just installed the wiring harness in a friend's 1929 Tudor sedan. Problem is the taillight wires only go to about middle of the rear fender. Looks like about 3 or 4 feet short of the taillight. It's routed the most direct way along the frame. Anyone experienced this? The harness is an older repro.

the tailight assy should have its own harness built in and then the 2 harnesses plug together underneath

Oh, ok his taillight needs rebuilt so will get pigtails and connectors from a vendor and see if it reaches then. I think the pigtails have two feet of wire. Will be close. Thanks for the info.

If it happens to be a 28 or early 29 with a drum taillight, then the wire should run all the way to the light, and Sacremento Vintage Ford makes the correct harness for this.

Some harnesses back in the early 70s were known to be made too short. J.C. Whitney (and others) sold them. I bought one.:(

If you can, compare the harness with one that came from a reputable source recently. (i.e. Sacramento Vintage Ford, Bert's, Bratton's, Snyder's)

Yep, I bet that's what it is cause it is a 70's era harness. Also the stop light wires dont line up with the switch, effectively making it even shorter. Looks like a either a new harness is in his future or will have to fabricate some extensions. Thanks!
