New Tires

Need a set of tires for my driver. Was considering the $100 Lucas or Lester
tires as opposed to the $150-200 Goodyear/Firestones. Has anyone had any adverser experience with the Lucas or Lester tires?

Lesters are nice, I install them on all the driver cars that come through my shop. From customer experience they also handle better in wet weather.

Not being critical but I think you will find that Lester Blackwalls are about $ 135 and whitewalls are about $168.

I just bought a set of Lester’s blackwall 550/19 they are bigger than stock but look great and it changed the drivability of the car tremendously, it really goes where you want it and does now not all over the road as before (I replaced 40yr old tires that looked great) . Not cheap $164 each. I think the stock size is around 135 each.

My Dad bought some Lucas tires a couple years ago prior to his death, when we unwrapped them, we found on the inside "made in Vietnam". Having served in that hell hole as a Marine, I told him that he should return them, because we had two family members KIA in that "Police Action". I would never buy Lucas tires, just my humble opinion.

I thought you'd be partial to "Kelley" tires. After all, they would have your name on them!:D

I bought 4 Goodyear white walls last fall to replace some fair old Denman's. I couldn't believe I was driving the same vehicle. They weren't cheap but I'm proud of my decision.

Bought a set of Lucas tires last year for a pickup we did and were very happy with them for the price, they looked very vintage too.
