Whidbey Island

What happened on Whidbey Is.?? I'm just across the sound haven't heard of any major disasters. Did something happen to one of their members?? Several of their members also belong to the Moon-on-A's. Which is one of the clubs I belong to. I haven't been on the site for several days, did I miss something??

A chunk of Whidbey Island off the coast of Washington slid into water early Wednesday morning, forcing the evacuation of 34 homes.

Of the 34 homes being evacuated, 17 are below the cliff and were isolated, cut off from the rest of the island by tons of rock, dirt and tress and wiped out the road as well as electrical and water connections.

Another 17 homes on the top of the cliff are also being evacuated, as many residents lost portions of their waterfront property to the landslide.

We are ALL Fine. Just have more property now! North of Greenbank! no deaths just loss of homes and maybe more to follow. Thanks for all you thoughts.:)

Best I can tell it was quite a bit south and on the other side (west) of the island.

Thanks Carl and Gary,

Got friends on Penn Cove good to hear no one was hurt down by Greenbank.

Enjoyed Knead and Feed and Blueberry Hill among other things back in the Late 80's while working support calls in the Seattle area and visiting Coupeville before I got laid off.

Now that I am done working today I can look on internet...
