I need to get a jack for my A to carry in vehicle and wondered whether most carried a scissor or bottle jack.
Thanks

AAA plus.............

This was discussed at length in the past few weeks, try doing a search, in the black bar top of the page.

Thanks Paul, I found the thread you were referring to and liked your post "AAA or Hagerty Roadside" I also have Hagerty. I was also wondering if AAA will service a Model A on a roadside emergency call and from your answer assume they will, which surprises me.

Never having had the need to call Hagerty's, will they service a flat or simply offer you a tow somewhere (still new at this, but their literature seemed to indicate they are a tow service more then a roadside repair service)?

Thanks
george

MOST of those tow guys are a bunch of clowns and would not trust one of them touching any of my cars let alone my A. fine and dandy tow me home but thats it.. wouldnt trust them to even change a flat without scratching my wheel. i deal with them all the time at my shop....

I carry original jacks that work good in my cars. If I had to choose between a scissors or bottle jack, I would pick the scissors jack. the scissors jack can't leak oil, usually takes less space for storage and will get lower.

I like a cast iron screw jack, like the AA jack that came new with the trucks.
I have one of these -- sitting on my workbench. Don't have a handle for it, so I haven't thought of carrying it with me. I have a scissor jack in my PU, along with a couple of short pieces of 2x4 to add stability on soft ground.
