anti-freeze servay

Hello, Morgantown WV. Congrats on your retirement Dusty! Took my retirement at age 62 been retired now 5 years. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I'm enjoying mine.
Thanks to ever ones input looks as though Preston is not the problen, more likely its the water wetter additive. This engine has less than 1000 miles on it , as for now Ime still rulling out the head gasket. It is a after market radiator, and I have ground down the impeller on the water pump, also added a thermostat.

P.S. my wife informed me that I misspelled Survey! never could spell

"Using distilled water only." Distilled water alone does not prevent rust on the inside of the block regardless of the temp. were you live. Even if the system is drained rust can still form on the inside of the block. You really should add a rust inhibitor at least.

We knew what you meant ;)

I use tap water and some green coolant/antifreeze - whatever one is at the shop when I go there - currently something from Valvoline. About 60% water, because that's what a whole jug works out to, and change it every two years. Our tap water isn't hard, so no mineral deposits. Plus if I actually change it at home, we have rain water anyway.
