FORD GRILL etc..

Hey Bill, I wasn't bothered at all. I appreciate all the info I find out on these sites. I belong to another website Team Chevelle and over the years have collected and learned a lot from a really good group of people. Lol, I kinda fell in love with this lil truck. I've had numerous offers to sell it for double what I paid but just not wanting to turn it lose. Hey Bill, I know where Pell City is, not too far away and luckyal, if you see those grills for $50 you better buy all you can. If anybody has a box of charcoal they are wanting to sell just let me know. Thanks for the welcome....Clyde

Ford in the period between WWI and WWII experimented with "Ford Communities." These would be set up to provide one or more Ford automobile products and might also include domestic productions of other kinds including farming and food.

A lengthy and scholarly write up of these "intentional communities" (today's term) is shown at http://scholarworks.umass.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1040&context=larp_faculty_pubs&sei-redir=1&referer=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2Furl%3Fsa%3Dt%26rct%3Dj%26q%3Dhenry%2520ford%2520factory%2520farms%26source%3Dweb%26cd%3D5%26ved%3D0CFkQFjAE%26url%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fscholarworks.umass.edu%252Fcgi%252Fviewcontent.cgi%253Farticle%253D1040%2526context%253Dlarp_faculty_pubs%26ei%3D8d1DUdyAKK_h4AOb0YGIDw%26usg%3DAFQjCNG-bBHvFcB-Zn5jrf8uxeWeQnhAmQ%26bvm%3Dbv.43828540%2Cd.dmg#search=%22henry%20ford%20factory%20farms%22

I think I've seen that Ford had at least 12 of these communities set up, some of them providing lumber, others specializing in machine work, others in the plastic moldings or other small stamped parts used in the automobiles. Ford made an effort to have these communities "self sustaining" as far as possible and thus avoid cost of transport. Also he had an interest to "quality of life" for the Ford workers in these communities. (Funny how this is EXACTLY the opposite of our current "citizen of the world" view.)

This bottle of juice seems to have been a product of one of the more local of these intentional farms, although product may have come from elsewhere but nearby.
