LHD to RHD parts

A while back I asked for parts needed to convert a LHD to RHD.

A few of you chimed in with the bits needed.

I do not remember anyone mentioning the side plate and oil pipe but I could be mistaken.

And to convert a RHD to LHD, this problem would probably be overlooked as it would not be a snag.

I found today that the side plate AND rear oil return pipe fitting is about 1/2 inch further back on a LHD.

It seems they had to move it forward for RHD so the exhaust flange clamp can be skewed around a bit so clutch pedal can go fully down.

This is the new toy, it is I think aug 28 AR RHD.

I am putting this body on a 29 LHD converted chassis , so I have safer brakes and probably fit 35 wires down the track.

I converted a LHD to rhd. I didn't have a problem with the return pipe. They make a rhd muffler clamp that fixes the problem and also gives the clutch pedal a little more space as well.

There is no difference for LHD or RHD for the 2 different side plates and the 2 matching oil return pipes.
The oil level in the tappet cover was lowered slightly, hence the 2 covers and 2 pipes.

You can use either of the side plates and return pipes,BUT the earlier and higher up one makes it easier to get the ex clamp on,
I never knew there was a lh or rh clamp.

It has the rhd muffler clamp. Probably not originally but I really like it

Yo, Lawrie, everything good?:D Would a L/H Monkey Wrench be a plus when installing a R/H drive Kzhausth clamp? I have one, purchased by Grandpa in 1935. Bantam dragster was so SMALL I opted for CENTER steering. I always prayed that the banjo wouldn't BLOW UP under my BOMBER seat! Bill W.

That's a nice lookin Truck you have there Pooch !!! Looks like its ready to go for a ride now!!!!! Can't be many AR Closed cabs around most of the real early pickups had the Open Cab . It's only the Handbrake that is different and that is really only good for parking .
A lot of early cars had a set up like that at the time, Austin for instance .Plenty of those still in NZ I bet .
If it were me I would keep that rebuilt frame for another project {You can't have too many A's] It's Like Women and their shoes Ha Ha!!!!

Both oil pipes were used on the RHD. The change over was about six months after the LHD cars were changed. Most changes in Australia were about six months after our LHD cousins.
