I got it charged yesterday and it blows super cold. I hope there no leaks in the systems. The car still wants to heat up to 200. I guess a 4 row radiator might do the trick? Back in the 1962 when I had my 56 station wagon it didn't heat up like this. This is going to be expensive I guess.I have done every thing else to solve the problem and still heats up. I had the radiator rodded out a 6 blade fan and still the same problem.I know its been hot this summer.

I assume you flushed the block? White vinegar should do the trick

200 with the air on?? If so, you aren't doing too bad.

congrats on the air i'm still fussing with hoses i think i found my leak another fitting must havenicked it when crimping will know on tues. when thats done winter project is new tinted side glass because it's like being in a fish bowl

How about using a electric fan on front of the radiator? when it starts to get hot turn on the fan. Just trying to give you a little help without spending a lot of money.

I bought a new thermal gauge SW Stewart Warner and expensive then a 6 blade fan I ordered a HD 4 core radiator yesterday. The only thing left is the water pump. I did take the 160 thermal stst out which helped some. This 56 is sure getting expensive to operate.A young girl did hit me in the rear at a stop light. I got a new bumper rechrome and ok I straighten the braces and painted them. I had enough money left to pay for the air cond and the radiator. The labor was me.The radiator should be here Wed.I am going to flush the block againI am going to drain the block and fill will vingar white and run the engine but how long????? You got any other ideas what to do beside all this?????

I would use the vinigar with the old radiator so you dont get crud in the new one. Take it for a 20 mile ride and drain it. Let us know what comes out.

Like previously posted I would run full strength white vinegar a good warmup or two, mayby leave overnight and run up to temperature again next day, mayby run 20-50 miles but get it out within a couple days. I then ran some straight water and Twenty Mule Team laundry detergent this helps clean out more without making suds that are difficult to rid of and may help neutralize the vinegar acid. As stated before then ne radiator.

No fan shroud as yet.I guess that down the road, The fwllow that makes them has not contact me yet. Will go to super market in a few minutes to get vinegar 3 gallon OK plus 20 Mule team laundry soap.;)

I would like to get one but the fellow that makes them has not answer my email as yet.Until he answer I don't have one. Tough:confused:
