Battery Terminals Melting

Thanks for your responses! The new switch arrived yesterday. I installed it with new screws, making sure it was perfectly centered on the brass starter contact. I also made sure the rod receiver was tight. After attaching the Neg cable to the battery, No Meltdown!!
The old girl fired right up and purred! I can't remember the last time I was so happy while working on an old car!
I am now going over the entire car to evaluate everything else needed in an effort to form a base line. There is a fuel leak if you leave the valve on after shutting the car off; it seems to be running a bit rich, and the choke rod is very hard to turn. (Correct Pos cable is on the list, columbiA)
Before I got it, it sat for 20 years and was rarely driven. I have downloaded a maintenance schedule and plan to do all items on the list.
Thanks again for the responses and great advice. I love this car!!

By the way, I was pleased to see that the starter switch purchased from Snyder's is an officially licensed Ford part, made in the USA!

"Official Licensed Product" Has nothing to do with the quality of the part, it just
means they paid Ford to use the part number or logo.
