crate to carry an engine

I recently purchased a complete engine with the flywheel housing in place and I was going to buils a wooden crate stand to haul it back home on my trailer. Has anyone ever built one of these and would you have deminsions of how to do it? thanks kelley

The flywheel housing and front pulley are the two fragile and most vulnerable items while moving an engine. I don't have any pictures of a crate, but a search might turn one up as there have been pictures of good shipping crates posted here. Search is in the top right of the page.

Get you a used pickup tire, and lay the engine down on top of it. They ride very nice.

We haul Model T engines like that also.

I have to agree I have move a few engines like that it works well maybe just a few straps to keep it from rolling sidewards
