Some of the posts are starting to sound like NASCAR
Ok Boys Have @ it / Any thing go's
Remember Ryans Rules for posting on his site. It is His site.
I am, Along with others, suprised that some of these threads have not been shut down.
REMEMBER " CHEVY BARN " R.I.P.
This site could be in the same Place
Ryan could pull the plug at any time.
Then the WAAA / WAAA factor would have to be implemented.

" WHY DID HE SHUT DOWN THE FORD BARN" >> WAAA / WAAA
" NOW WHAT DO I DO " WAA /WAA

This is Just My Opinion :
So lets get back to are FLATHEADS & the peolpe that Enjoy the Hobbie.

Bill, while I agree that the postings should be relevant to Flatheads and Flathead based activities, like you have said in previous post, there is more to this hobby than just turning wrenches... The other option, availed to all of us, is to simply bypass threads that we don't like or don’t want to participate in.

I definitely agree with Vic! I see a thread that isn't relevant to what im searching for, i just skip over it.

Vic:
Point Taken,I guess that after loosing the old Ford Barn /Chevy Barn & Not knowing where to go to get the vast knowledge that is offered here I just don't want to see this site to go by the way side also. ( Not that any one said it would But Just saying )

Some times I over think stuff and see wolf's that aren't really there.
Thanks Vic / 1949FORD

Bill, something we can all do if we think a post should not be on here is to click on the 'report' button and let them know why we think the post is inappropriate. I just reported three SPAM posts and they were quickly removed.

Clearly this Fordbarn site has been about 50 percent tech and 50 percent social chit chat, always has been and always will be. Just look at Vic's eternal record breaking thread. I personally come to learn things not make friends. Every forum has its own personality. If your looking for straight talk tech, visit: flatheadsrus.com. Not nearly as frequented a site as this, but very tech focused.

Russ, I like to mix tech with fun and apparently it's a good mix, as most seem to enjoy our Flathead Follies...:) After all, all work and no play is not a good thing for any of us.:( As for making friends, I've developed a number of friendships over the years both here and on the previous FordBarn and, I consider the friendships more important then the technical knowledge I've gained.;) It's true that you can learn something new everyday and, if you can make new friends at the same rate, all the better.

I like the personal side of the hobby as much as the tech side.

I rarely see a thread on here that is not in some way related to our old fords. Sometimes its not a technical question, rather a victory thread after fighting or working on a long term problem or project. Or somebody posting some pics of a trip they just took in their old Ford.

I love seeing those posts when someone has worked on something and finally fixes it or gets it right. It is not necessarily technical but relevant none the less IMHO.

I would not have made near the progress I have made if not for some of these threads. They are great motivation.

The nice thing about a site like this, is that you don't have to read the stuff your not interested in. I like to look at projects and read about my own Ford "problems".

I am very lucky to have so much support and tech help from this site and have had since the "Shelly" days. Through it all I have made some good friends along the way. I too look for posts that interest me. Thanks to all who make this place what it is.

Were you here before Shelly got the forum?
It was going to be shut down and what a relief that she kept it going.

Just an observation, but Ryan has owned this site for quite some time and still has not added a Fordbarn banner on the About Us page. Likely meaningless, but makes a person wonder how close to being cut we actually might be. If you are on the HAMB and click on the About Us tab you will see Fordbarn only has a small link at the bottom of the page. Rod

I'd have to quit, my spelling iz atroshis. Even my spell checker flunked 3rd grade.

Hey Ol' Ron,
Ha, ha a great sense/cents/since(?) of humor AND one of the smartest flathead tech guys that I've ever read:) !
Odd that you say that your spelling is atroshis , as I always immediately get what youse saying ! Your knowledge , that you graciously share with us, makes this place interesting! Stick around son:D

BTW- I'm confused by: R I P CHEVY BARN comment? I've been reading where Ryan has acquired the rights to that and is in the process of making it great...just like Fordbarn...no?

R.I.P. CHEVY BARN is JUST A LITTLE TONG N CHEEK

on about 9/05/12 CHEVY BARN went off line with Ryan Making a comment
"it will be back soon"
That was followed up on 9/06/12 with Ryan saying that he had purchased the rights to
CHEVY BARN and it would be back in a few weeks as a sister site to FORD BARN
and to please be patient.
I keep mentioning that these are his sites & we are just VISITORS
The amount of work it takes to keep These sites running it great.
let alone bringing on board another site.
So for now I stick with my TONG N CHEEK "CHEVY BARN" R.I.P.

!. It's the Ford Barn - FORD
2. There are rules - Don't like them go away
3. Having watched things on the H.A.M.B. - Too many Off Topic, Too Much Drama - Bam It's shut down - Thats no matter if you scroll by or are one of the ones
