Transmission Jack Question

On a recent thread CarlG posted a picture of a jack. I looked in Harbor Freight on-line and they did not have any transmission jacks. Northern Tools has a $50 attachment for a floor jack with a 1 1/8 inch saddle. Does anyone have any experience with the Northern Tools version? I do not want to spend several hundred $$ for a "professional" jack.
Thanks,
Vic

Hi Vic

Look again at Harbor Freight. They have them. I have seen them in the stores themselves

You can make a transmission jack for a model A by just using a pipe nipple to thread into the drain hole, and setting the nipple into the hole in your floor jack with the saddle removed.

Vic, If you are planning to use the jack on a Model A, Let me suggest a better method. A shop crane or so called cherry picker makes the job real easy, just reach in the passenger door and lift the ****** in or out. The ballance point is the joint between the clutch housing and the ****** case. Take the two front bolts out of the ****** top and use small length of chain.

Thanks for the responses. I looked at Harbor Freight first and could not find any. Then I used the re-direct from Jazzjr. It was easy after that.
I am installing the engine again after a rebuild from Dreamwerks and I will probably not have much help so I want to be able to position the Mitchell syncro carefully. I found what looks like a Northern Tools transmission adapter at a flea market this afternoon for $15. I will see how it fits on one of my jacks. Sometimes you get lucky.
