The first V/8 60's had welded sides. The were called tin sides. I have one in a midget race car. 1937 had tin sides and I beleive 38, 39 and 40's were cast like the V/8 blocks. G.M.

I'm not an expert on 60's but I've built a few. From what I can see with the pic, it look like a std. 37 block USA with the stainless sides. They only had that one year 37 The 38 -39-40 was cast iron sides. The 40 was all by it self, bigger main and rod on the crank and the regular 85-100HP trans will bolt to the 40 bellhousing. The 37-38-39 had a smaller trans. I don't think I've ever seen and stock intake with out the fuel pump hole. Walt

I have an Edelbrock 2x2 intake on my 37 and it has fuel pump hole. But I do have another intake that does not. Not sure what brank it is.

Tony if you go to the previous thread which was inserted a few days ago I have inserted a write up about the Two exhaust port 1935 V8-60 engine and I have also inserted a picture of the oil pan for it, I have another picture taken where it bolts on as well, it shows you the stud pattern which I can enter. Let us know if yours is the same.

It looks very similar but I will have to compare the pic to my oil pan when I get back to the US.
I believe it will also fit on my 37-39 engines .

Most of the 1935 two exhaust port V8-60 engines in the 1935 Ford models were replaced with the later, more reliable 1936 three exhaust port V8-60 engines or the larger 21 stud V8 engine. Parts could be a problem too with the 1935 V8-60 engines. The later 1936 onwards V8-60 engines were manufactured
and shipped from U.S. for the new 108-1/4inch wheelbase Model 62 English cars.
Different Ratio transmissions to the 21 stud engine ones were fitted also to all the V8-60 engines from 1935 onwards. The port arrangment on the two port 1935 V8-60 engine is different from the later models, comparing it with the later models the exhaust ports are inlets and the inlet ports are exhausts.
I have enclosed a not very clear picture of the stud pattern of the 1935 two exhaust port V8-60 sump.
