Miscell. e28

Hi, wanted to ask some miscell. questions that have been on my mind:

*A&L Keys - how to contact them and any experiences?
*Original Tire Pump - anyone selling a new diaphragm or
have instructions on making one?
*Engraving Light Switch - any luck engraving "On" "Off" to make
original looking e28 switch?
*Running with GAV 1/2 to 3/4 turns open? My car with a Zenith doube
venturi seems to run better this way. Using 87 Octane unleaded gas
with a can of SeaFoam in the tank. Always understood proper setting
is 1/4 open with warm engine. My car doesn't like that ! What the
risk of fouling the plugs or the valves this way?? No smells or smoke
from the exhaust at this time.
*Leaking from rear of transmission case - leaks around the idler shafts
which are protruding from the case. Any way to stop the leaks short
of a teardown??

Any and all answers much appreciated. Working on winter projects in my
garage, especially the 28.

Regards,

A good hardware store (rare these days) should have the tire pump leather. I bought one a few years ago from the hardware store.

Thank you, Steve and Tom, for the advice.
One more question: What is best polish for stainless steel? Want to do the job by hand, not buffing, but need a stout polish that will help with the scratches.
The answers to these questions will keep me busy for weeks.
Thanks and Regards,

Martin

If you don't want to machine polish, then hand rub with 1200 wet and dry, wet, then use autosol to put that final finish on the part.

This is the one needing stainless polish.
Looking for really good product to work out the scratches.
Sorry, not Model A but they live next to each other in my garage.
Another winter project. Asked on FB because 30-31 owners would
know about stainless restoration.

Regards,

Martin
