Truck windsheild wiper

I'm hoping someone can help me identify a missing piece that i need for my hand operated winshield wiper on my 29 ccpu. i have a couple hand operated wipers, an original henry unit and a chrome repro. but i seem to be missing a part that holds it to the windshield frame. if you tilt the frame open you can see what's left of a bracket that looks to have been held in with 2 small bolts. it may have held a bushing that suported the wiper unit, but unfortunatly most of it is missing, and i cant find anything in any of the catalogs.

Thanks for your anticipated replies

Scott

Bob C, that looks like the missing link, now the question is does anyone repop this? if not i may have to fab something up.

Thank you gentlemen

No one is making this part, but I was able to get one from Bert's model A parts in Denver. Call Steve and see if they have any old windshield frames you can get the part off of. They are very helpful and might also have the original handle. The chrome repro dose not fit, Ed Saniewski

I made mine out of sheet metal (furnace tin does not rust) Its been a while but I believe I wrapped several layers until I got a good fit. Still works and I tell folks that Henry made it with intermittent wipers. LOL Iceman

It's a late '31 Budd Cab (with the all steel top). I'll have to look to see what the hole situation is. My thinking is that it has an incorrect windshield frame in the first place.

According to the 1997 JS, the hand wiper stopped in April 1930, your
truck should have a vacuum unit...the hunt is on.

That really doesn't surprise me. I've only had this truck for a couple of years and I'm still running into all sorts of things that "aren't quite right". (Like Johnny Cash & his 55-56-57-58-59 Caddy)

Aint it the truth! And she looked so right when I bought her but was so completely cross eyed from love at first sight that I failed to notice the horn was missing. A $49. Earl Shieb spray over sure matches up a lot of orphan parts.

What year/month is your truck? How many holes in the WS frame?
I took a look at my truck this morning. ('31 Budd Cab). The windshield frame has only one hole, the one that the shaft goes thru.

When I bought the truck, the wiper blade was rotten. So the only way I could replace it was to replace the whole mechanism. Never was satisfied with the way it fits in there. Fortunately I've only had to use it on one trip where it rained on us (150 miles solid!).

I took a look at my 26 Tudor to see how that one was mounted and the hand wiper mechanism is the same as the a pickup but there is just the one hole that the wiper goes through, there looks to be just a piece of tubing that the wiper is supported by and looks to be permanently fixed.
