Can you still get the old style plugs that have the brass top with knurled nut like the original?

No but you can get the knerled nuts from John Brillman 1-888-274-5562 and they are the correct mm thread. ken ct.

I don't know of anyone making them today. If you are looking for the original 3 piece type plugs, I see them on ebay and at flee markets but usually a high $$'s. You might try a want ad here or on the EFV8C/A website.
