Link to an individual post

Ryan, here's another suggestion....

Over on the A Forum, a fellow posted:"...Still trying to figure out how to bookmark one persons reply without saving the entire thread. " You can see it

http://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1120#post4888

Would it be possible to put a tag or an icon in each post that had the link to that specific post behind it? The forum already has the "<a name=XXX>" tag in each post and the URL to get back to it is simply the thread URL with the "#XXX" added.

As an example, see the URL I included above. It is the thing I mention and leads you right into the thread where the specific post is located.

Now if this is already there, tell me how/where to find it and I'll just be quiet and go sit in a corner for awhile.

Regards,

Bill Lee

I've ran message boards for 15 years and I've never been asked this one. Even weirder, I've asked myself the same question and never took the time to find the answer. Today, I did...

See the title to my reply? Follow that over to the right... See where is says "#2" in the grey bar? Click that sucker.

How bout that?

Ok Boss - you have my interest on this too.

I clicked on it and then what ?
How's that work ?
Guess learning something new - this had me wondering for some time.

Good catch, Ryan, glad I asked the question.

I answered the poster over in the A forum.

Cob, it should have opened another browser window (or tab) with JUST the post in it. Or you can right click the #X number and add it to your bookmarks, which is what the original poster over in the A forum wanted to do.
