This my project for the next few weeks- clean, paint, replace parts including installing the original cable brakes. What is the spacer for underneath the spring? After I rob a bank, tires.

HI, that spring had a few of the leaves removed to flatten it , lowers the car a little
& softens the ride, hence the spacer , so the u-bolt spring cip bar can quench up
when tightening & wont bind up on the x member.

How many leafs should be there? I counted 8 leafs and 9 on the front spring.

Check the gear ratio stamped on the bottom center rib of the banjo housing. If it is a 9:44, its only good for running a 3/8th circle track with a 28th trans in second gear. The best all around gear outside of the mountains is a 3:78 stamped 9-34
