I'm installing new carpets in my sunliner. Need to know if the accellerator pedal is screwed to the floor on top of the carpet or under the carpet. Have seen it both ways..
Thanks

If you screw over the top of the carpet it will help to secure the carpet. Fitting the carpet over the top of the pedal means you have to cut the carpet to slip it over the top. The carpet will fray quicker with hole cut in it.
Make sure once you have fitted the carpet that you still have full throttle. Too much padding will restrict travel.

I am getting ready to install new carpet in my '62 Merc Meteor. Ordered today. It is supposed to be cut and molded to fit. Any pointers on the installation process would be appreciated.

I might as well add this to the mix since the link about carpet install brings up Dyna-Mat here is a discussion from the HAMB: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=711889 I used it on my 54's roof to insulate it from the 100 degree plus temps in Phoenix before the new headliner goes in,I added some tips and part numbers for what you need in several of my posts. It made a big difference! At 108 outside you could fry your hand on the roof inside it was barely warm.

Mike, I painted the entire floor of my '55 RanchWagon with Rust Bullet then installed Dynamat Extreme everywhere. made it COOLER and QUIETER. Whole job cost ~$200.00. Then I installed the carper over the whole Enchilada.
