1955 Headlamp Door Trim question.

I have always liked the trim on the 1955 Fairlane headlamp doors. I see this same trim adapted to a lot of '55-56 T'Birds. I just bought a '57 T'Bird and 'am wondering if it is possible to adapt this Fairlane trim to my '57 Bird's headlamp doors? I have been into the Early Ford V8's for the past 30 some years and now I have this T'Bird. Comments please, good or bad. Thanks, JimOH

Don't know if the 57 headlite doors are the same as the 55/56. If they are, or very close, there is no reason it wouldn't work.
 
You need the ring and eyebrow assembly from a '55 Fairlane: the '55-'57 T-bird used lower-model rings. The Fairlane ring is cut out for the eyebrow.
 
Thanks guys. I had been told that the 55 Fairlane headlight door would not fit on the '57 front fender. Glad to hear that I can do it on my 57 Bird. Now the hunt begins for the parts I need. Best regards, JimOH

I am pretty sure I have an extra pair of '55 Fairlane headlight outer doors, with the reliefs for the eyebrows. Dont have the stainless(chrome?) trim though.

The eyebrows are pot metal and like most chrome plated pot metal they corrode and pit easily. They do make repro's tho, but I can't recall where I saw them. I'll see if I can find them.
 
All the outlets sell them. Macs, Dennis Carpenter, TeeBird Products, Ford Road Parts Store and Concours Parts. I bought mine recently for $150 a pair plus post.
It never ceases to amaze me how people charge a premium for putting stuff on eBay - probably to recoup the PayPal fees.
