The begining of a long project

This is my 1930 Deluxe Coupe. I am starting to work on it again after a few years off while my Father and I worked on his 1930 Town Sedan, and I worked on a Geology degree. The coupe is the proverbial "chicken coupe" as it was found in a chicken house on a ranch in Lincoln, CA. When we got the car it still had its "prison made" Montana plates it wore when it last ran.
The car was owned by a Colonel in the Air Force who was transferred out here to California and Beale Air Force Base. Shortly there after, the Colonel was sent to Korea and sadly he never returned home. His coupe sat in the chicken house from then until 2009. I am going to return this car to its original glory, in part to honor the Colonel.
At some time in the past the car was hit from rear and the bumper hangers broke a chunk out of the frame on both sides and went up through the sub-rails too. This allowed the rear to sag and pull away at the header. One rear support piece was broken the other was buckled. My father and I have decided the best way to repair the coupe is to take it all the way down to the sub-rails, then repair and reassemble the body on its own frame.
So, we are at the beginning of a long project.
I'll let you know how it goes.

I hope there is a picture here now.

I think the piecing together on the frame for proper alignment is the right approach. Better than a surprise later after it's all painted and shiney.

I truly enjoy the idea of a father / son team. You are blessed............

I mentioned that PART of the reason for restoring the coupe is to honor the Colonel, another huge part is just to hang out with my Dad!
