JUST BOUGHT A 37 big truck and drove it home. seat is nothing but a set or springs back and bottom. how does the bottom fasten on to the gas tank? I see no brackets or a way to adjust . might be missing something. all I have are front and back springs. back springs are attached only at the top to the back of the cab. bottom springs just sitting on the tank(floor riser). any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

The seat bottom would be attached to a piece of plywood and the plywood would have holes in the left and right forward side which would slip over the metal pegs on the seat riser.

This is my 41 1/2 ton. Yours is probably similar

Attached is a photo of the three adjustment holes in the wood frame on the seat of my 1940 One Ton truck.

I intended to add text, but couldn't. I re-did mine from parts of a rotted out piece of the original wood. In addition to the three adjustment/alignment holes, they (at least mine) had a thin piece of steel countersunk, to prevent the distortion of the holes. This is on my '40, assuming they are the same.
