34 Ford Subrail Inside Door Gap

I am currently installing new subrails and rocker panels on my 34 Ford 5 Window Coupe. I have the subrails and rocker panels mocked up to check for placement. Viewed from the inside, I have a gap of roughly 1 inch between the inside of the door and subrail. All the door gaps are equal and the doors close easily. Is this gap normal or should the door and subrail gap be flush?

Hard to take a pic of this with seat in .First pic is front and second is the rear. Both are passenger door on my 33 5w . Gap looks even to me .

Hmm these gaps look a bit too wide to me. Sorry I can't take a pic of my car but looks like in davids pics about a finger width or roughly half inch looks right to me.
