I searched the forum and couldn't find these answers.

What paint and finish is closest to the factory original frame paint? I may use KBS coatings, but would like to know.

What paint and finish is closest for the interior floor panels?

What color primer did Ford use for the body?

Thanks, Steve

don,t kown does anyone kown if there is a color code for those old car,s an trucks,an where would one find it.Rickmass

Macs has a couple of books that have the paint chips. They are around thirty dollars each. They carry ppg lacquer. That is what i would go with to get the closest to what you need. Do you know what color it was? I guess if you did not know what color it was find a color that the 36 truck would have had and paint it that color. Primer color schould not matter as long as it will work with the paint you are going to use.

Any chance MACS sells the restoration guidelines for the '36 from the Early Ford V8 Club? If not get them directly from the club (earlyfordv8.org). The chips in the restoration guidelines would be the ones I would trust. Be sure to get the latest edition as described in post http://fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=56002&showall=1.

From what its says online that the book has the full paint schedule and the correct color chips.

I just painted mine the color I liked, since not going for original, but the most widely used color on 1/2 ton and bigger trucks was black, I know mine was originally black.

I have chosen the color for the body and I have the 35-36 Ford Book. But, it doesn't say much about the items in my original question...it only says black. I am trying to stay close to the way Henry Ford did it.

Original Frame from the factory- Glossy black or Satin finish?
Interior floor panels - Glossy black or Satin finish?
Primer color - red primer from the factory?

Also, in "The Book" it references Raven Black for some parts and Glossy Black for others. Does anyone know the difference? Thx Steve
