We are leaving Wednesday for Ga. I always look forward going to the V-8 National meet. Any of you fellows going and what are you bringing. My old clunker is as ready as It going to be I guess. I did find a set of sparkplugs H-10 to install in her. They are used and I started her up and so far they run pretty good. Maybe today I will run out the road to see if they are ok to drive with.I been watching a young man from our town make the olympic team in wrestling Coleman Scott. We are very proud og that boy. I have watch him since he was 4 years old. He always said he was going to be on the Olympic team and he has done it.

Ken, congratulations to your local Olympian and have fun in Hiwassee at the Meet:D. Maybe you should bring along a set of Autolite 216's if you're planning on doing any driving in the North Georgia Mountains... Sorry I won't be there to help you get lost...;) Vic

I'm leaving this Saturday for Hiawassee in my 53 4-door following last years National President. With some luck, will be there Monday. See ya'll there.
Charles

Ken, are you showing the '50? If so, good luck, and let us know what kind of points you got this time.

Just got back from a test run in the 50. Was having trouble with the overdrive working. One of the members told me to change the oil in the transmission and I did. Well now it goes in very quick and works super well. The overdrive does not like heavy oil I have found.I wanted a set of H-10 Champion sparkplugs to show the 50 with and found a set of old used ones. I clean them up and reblued them. I put them in and they work very well. I was surprise on how well the car runs.I look forward going to the National meet. I look forward meeting new friends and looking at the cars. That seems to be my bag I guess.Old cars is a disease and there no cure but maybe a another old car I have been told.

Is there gonna be any kind of gathering of 'Barners?

Hi Jeff, ......If there's going to be a Barners gathering at the EFV8C/A ENM in Hiawassie, GA, it looks like you and Henry just may have to be the one's who pull it all together/make it happen :).
Take a few (hundred) pictures for us poor old guys who can't make the meet.:(. If you guys do any touring try to go at a slow enough pace so the folks traveling behind you can keep up.....what with those new and better gears in the transmission, rebuilt rear with improved ratio, new rubber components everywhere, rebuilt shocks, newly rebuilt clutch and pressure plate.....you guys are going to be a tough team to keep up with.

Don't forget to check out those 75th anniversary, '37 gear shift knobs for me :)
Sure wish I could be going to Hiawassee for this one :(

The Horrocks boys in action......

Sure hope you guys have a good time at the Meet.:D Wish I could make it but I'll have to wait until October for the Moonshine Festival in Dawsonville, (not too far from Hiawassee), where we will have another gathering of Barner's at the Mountain "Barner's Bash". Hope to see you and your dad in October,:) see if you can get John to come down again, he's still got to pick up a Coon Skin Cap at "Goats on the Roof" just outside of Helen...;) Vic

Vic we'll surely miss you. I'll try to post photos. John has to skip the meet to be with the family at the beach, it's killing him. I'm really looking forward to driving the car all week but maybe I'll have to share some. The forecast is for slight chance of thundershowers Sunday thru Tuesday, I hope that holds true, no hailstorms please!

Vic, I am hoping to be at the MS Festival again this year....although my wife is threatening to "clip my wings" a bit on all these trips I am taking or have planned to take this year. I may need to win the Power Ball Lottery Jackpot or maybe become a Southern TV Producer :D. I definitely do need to pickup one of those Coon Skin Caps to add to my hat collection. Speaking of hats....do you have the picture that was taken of the Scottish guy that showed up at this years Barners Bash in Florida?? I thought I had his picture but can't seem to find it now
