FYI - nice '36 pickup on Ebay

That is a fine looking truck. I'm not a truck guy but I believe one like this could change that in a hurry.

isn't that a '35 hood....and wires on a '36??....maybe Lawson can help....if he can find it....it's a left coast pickup, Lawson....:D.....Mike

It looks like a dukes mixture of 35 & 36. 35 did not have a rear bumper. Late 35's had a change in the A pillar where it meets the cowl. Change from sharp angle of 35 to curved area at that part of the body like the 36. It sort of looks like a 36 grill on a 35, but really can't tell from photo. Pickups did not come with banjo steering wheel. He has a banjo on his, like I have on my 35. Pin stripe in wrong place for 35. It should be below the belt mold on the hood and doors. About 5/8" if my memory serves me right. 36 pinstripe in center of belt mold. Hood louvers should not be pinstriped. Horn (one, on driver side only, should be black, not chrome. Large belt mold across the dash should be black, regardless of body color. Tail lights too high up on stake pockets on bed. 35-36 pickups did not have inside mirror. Tail gate hinges should be body color, not chrome. Windshield frame should be painted body color, his is not. Grill bars are painted black. So are mine because I like the look. Grill was totally body color until I believe mid 36, and you could order it with the grill bars painted black.

Hey, I have picked enough nits. It is a beautiful truck, and I would love to own it. I am sure he restored it to please himself, and not to be point judged, just like me.

Yeah, like I said, he's done a lot of things I will probably do to my '36. I plan on a banjo steering wheel, I'm using a '34 front bumper, will have a non-stock antique white color (65 Mustang Wimbledon White). Also thinking about a red interior to go with my red engine and red wide-fives. I located a horn, but its chrome and that's alright with me. I've got Red's headers and my engine is also a later flathead, but just a '40 (he used a '49).

I don't plan on juice brakes or a radio. Might chrome a swan neck shifter. Haven't decided on the bed yet, either wood with metal strips or original steel bed floor.

So yeah, I'd love to own it too. I'll be it goes for around $30k

A lot of thought and care to detail is evident here, 'plus a Columbia' (biting knuckle).

Nice pickup. Lawson, one more nit. How about the front bumper, did they put those dipped ones on pickups? And how about the vertical bars, seems like a car thing but is it a truck option?

We have an archives photo of a new fleet of pickups delivered to a customer and lined up in front of his business. Half of the trucks have a straight bumper and the other half have the dip. I submit the straight bumper is most correct but the factory apparently used what they had on hand as the truck came down the line . "What about vertical bars", do you mean in the grill bars? That was addressed in my dissertation above. lol

Some more nits: 35 hood, chrome hood handles,34 passenger outside door handles, wrong inside door handles, light switch on dash, starter button on dash, wood in bed. Very nice driver truck, a little like my 36 p/u. LOL

The high bid was $18,600.99 it has been relisted. I think he should have taken the high bid.... jmho

The seller apparently is an optimist. I just got an email from a friend of his offering it off ebay for $25k.
