Im thinking about putting hydraulic brakes on my 30 coupe. Will a 1939 rear end bolt right in. I also have a 36 front end that Im going to use 40 front brakes on will that Bolt in.thanks chris

The '39 rear end has a 5 on 10 1/4 bolt pattern, is too wide and the driveshaft is too long. The spring on the '39 is mounted behind the axle not above the axle like a Model A. I believe the '36 front end will be too wide and the spring is mounted in front of the axle on a '36 not over the axle like a Model A. As Pete said, no and no. Do you have an existing Model A front and rear end you could add the brakes to?

I do I have a running and driving car. I was looking at the model a mechanics hand book it looked like it has a secticion on hydraulic brakes. Is it worth buyin? Any input on what I need, what years. I would like to stay tradition and use early ford parts.

What is the exact title and author of the "model a mechanics hand book" you are looking at? You will find a lot of information by searching the archives at this site.
