Is it best to leave a 97 set on S or W?

i'm aware of that. i read it is best to leave it set on one or the other for economy.

If I'm correct the W winter setting gives the carburetor more fuel when starting the engine cold. It's not needed in summer, you don't need the extra fuel to start the engine, less fuel used better milage.

I would use the W setting yr round. I also use the longer rod on all Stroms. There are 2 diff lengths. ken ct.

The long one measures 3.805 and the short one 3.645 . Little more than 5/32.The long ones are hard to find.Short ones are more common.I make long ones by cutting them and using a sleeve with epoxey to hold to gether,work fine been doing it for yrs when i run out of long ones. ken ct.[cut short ones in 1/2]

Can you feel a difference in acceleration with the longer rod?
