Aermore Exhaust Whistle

Has anyone on the forum mounted a Aermore whistle to the rear of the tail pipe so that you don't have to cut into a expensive stainless steel Aries muffler.

Yes, mine is hooked on the end of the tailpipe. I used muffler clamps to hold it on. I have a steel wire that runs up to the floorboard so I can pull it. Really makes people wonder where the train is coming from when I pull it.

There is a fitting that goes between the cast iron exhaust manifold and the aries muffler that has a flap valve in it. No cutting anything and goes under the hood.

I used to have it installed that way but it always leaked for me. Now I have an adaptor that goes on the end of the tailpipe and also a cable that routes up front to pull. I have mine pointed to the front of the car and you hardly notice it being there.

Tom, do you have a picture of the adapter you could post?

I took the one off the newly acquired '28 Tudor I bought. It leaked exhaust, wife complain, but likes the whistle and she doesn't want me to install it on her Honda Accord.

I've tried re-installing it, but the bottom clamp hits the rear mount, making it impossible to correctly install it.

I've thinking of installing it at the rear of the tailpipe. If I can get a picture, should be able to make my own adapter.

Thank you..........

I'll get a picture of it and see if I can get my son to post it on here for you as I am not sure how to do it. My adaptor was made by a friend in my Model A chapter.

Here are 2 pictures from Tom F OHIO that he asked me to attach for him. They are of the whistle and the adapter. Hope this helps.

This is the valve I have that goes between the exhaust manifold and the exhaust pipe.

It's old. I found it at a swap meet with my whistle.

Thank you Tom and franchise 24 for the pictures.

I have a similar valve set up like the one Jason has. But mine is about twice as long and makes it impossible to put the lower clamp on. It has an interference with the rear motor mount, making it impossible to install correctly.

I will install mine at the end of the tail pipe.

Again, than you for the pictures.
