I did a search, but didn't find anything. Are the dashboards the same for closed cars from 1935 to 1936?

Thanks,
-Bob

Yes, The 35 and 36 sedan and coupe dash's as the same, but were painted differently depending on std or deluxe and year.

I thought they were, but wanted confirmation before I bought a '35 dash that's for sale, for my '36. Thanks for the info!

Don are the cabriolet and conv sedan dashes different to the coupe and sedan dashes?(to help a member in the wanted section).

The difference--- The Conv dash has no hole towards top center for the wndshld crank ...same goes for the waterfall.

Dan, The Cabriolet, Club Cab, Conv Sedan, and Station Wagon are the same for 35 and 36 but not the same as coupe or sedan. Besides not having a crank hole, they have a different contour also.

Actually, as in most things Ford, if you get real particular, there is at least two versions of the 35-36 closed car dashboards. Subtle difference, but different nonetheless; some 35's have a little spring steel clip in the top of the glove box opening that latches the door shut. I think it is an early 35 feature only, perhaps Don could elaborate?

Brian, You are correct. I should read my book more often. Some 35 dashes will have a clip on top of the glove box opening to hold the door closed. Later dashes will not. See photo (note: photo is a roadster dash)

Another minor difference in dashes that will be noticed is that some will have 2 narrow slots along the edge of waterfall area. This indicates a later deluxe 36 dash that used 2 stainless strips and a stainless escutcheon to trim the waterfall area. (see trim pieces in 2nd photo)

Speaking of 35/6 dashboards, how do you remove the wiper knob(I think, it's on left side of waterfall)? It pulls in and out, but I cant see how to get it out.

The wiper knob is on the wiper motor and sticks out of the header panel above the windshield. It is not on the dash so I would have to say you have some type of aftermarket wiper setup. How your switch comes out is going to depend on what it is you have. Can you post a picture of it?

you might be talking about the dash light switch. if so you have to squeez the two clips on the inside of the dash that are on the switch

Yep, it's the dash light switch. I saw the two female wire connectors and thought they were vacuum hose connections.
