location of wiper motor

I recently obtained the correct wiper motor for my 1931 Deluxe Roadster. The car came w/o a motor and I am not sure exactly where to locate it on the windshield frame. Is it just where it clears the best? Is there an exact measurement where it should be mounted? There are two (2) snap buttons located on the driver's side frame about 2" apart. They are in the area where the wiper motor would be mounted. I am not sure what they are for.

You need a set of clamps as the wiper is clamped to the windshield frame with the shaft passing just over the top of the frame and between those two snaps you speak of. Any parts dealer should have clamps. Do not drill holes in the frame.

Here are the measurements I have for a closed car from Marco's site.

Mike's in Georgia instructed me to mount the motor with the center of the motor
14 inches from the left side of the frame and it worked perfectly for me. The wiping
surface was spot on. My car, however is a closed coupe. I don't know if that makes
any difference.

Tried to mount the motor where indicated. The clamps cannot be tightened due to the curvature of the mounting ears - where the clamp screws go thru. The clamps do not square to each other and thus cannot be tightened.

Tried to attach photos but denied due to "missing security token".

Never mind. I had tried mounting the motor with the wiper motor ears BETWEEN the clamps. They are mounted behind the clamps by the nut. Got it now. Thanks for the help everyone.

According to my Trico catalog KSL-230 is for 33-34 passenger side open
De Luxe V8.

According to wiper officionados, the K designation is an update of the original wiper motor designed for the 30-31 Ford open cars including the 31 Deluxe Roadster that I own. I checked with MAFCA, Rob Ficken, and Rick Black from MAFCA and they all told me the KSL-230 was the one. At this point in time I would put a 1952 Kaiser wiper motor on there if it would fit and work. BTW the inlet for this motor is on the left whereas I would think if this fit a 33-34 on the passenger side it would be opposite.
Make sense?

Maybe the 33-34 mounts upside down like the 30-31 open cab P/U, I don't know either.
Don't have a listing for a 52 Kaiser but a 46 Kaiser takes a CSM-1-3 wiper motor.:D

Are the clamps shown attached to the inside of the windshield frame holding the vacuum hose in place standard? I do not have holes there for attaching these hose clamps.

The top fabric and glass are new of course. Everything else you see in the photo is original (80+ years old). Reproduction frames are not drilled for the clamps.
