I'm ready to install a new clutch disc into my 4 cylinder 1932 model B engine. can anyone tellme how to prep the fly wheel and pressure plate surfaces? both of them look very clean but somewhere in my mind ive heard you dont want a slick mirror like look to the surfaces. Thats what they have now. Any suggestions?

Having a machine shop grind the flywheel is a standard practice. The pressure plate can be done also but a different procedure.
Should be checked out by a clutch shop before assembly.Pressure plate is more work to refinish perhaps a new one would be in order. If the surfaces are acceptable you could just install a new disc.Has to be seen to determine a acceptable set up.

If you are just replacing the clutch plate and it was operating satisfactorily before I would just leave the surfaces clean and dry and reassemble. Any surface prep will quickly smooth out under use and will be back like yours are now. This is assuming the pressure plate is in good mechanical condition.
In the old days these were usually both replaced at the same time.

I agree,

Just be sure the surfaces are absolutely grease free. I use a little laquor thinner, acetone, or some such stuff that does not leave an oily film.

If everthing worked fine before and you are only replacing the disc because it is wet of worn, it should wok just fine.
