Which fuel pump to use for weber down draft carb.

Hi guys. The new motor I bought for my car came with a weber downdraft carb. I plan on dropping the engine in sometime within the next week or so. I need to know which fuel pump to buy. I know it needs to be 2 to 3 pounds pressure. My car is a 6 volt. I was wondering if anyone had the part # for it, so I could buy it locally for cheaper than what macs has it at. If anyone could give me a part # that would be great! Thanks!

here is the fuel pump that macs has

Theo, go to your local NAPA and get one of their 12 volt ******** type low pressure fuel pumps and hook it up pos or neg ground whichever makes it pump properly. Doing it this way you won't have to use a regulator and it will work fine. I put one on a speedster once and it ran great, never missed a lick. I think we gave 29$ for the pump.

Carter or Nappa #60430 is a 12 volt pump but powerd by 6 volt it works well and you won't need a regulator. Puts out 2 to 3 psi @ 6 volts

THEO, Tom from Snyders told me on mine i needed to run 1 1/2 to 2lbs of fuel pressure when i bought the set-up from them. Sammy from Arizona model a builds them for the suppliers. i gave you his bussiness card. he is a very nice helpfull person. just like the guys on here. JAN.:):):)

James, why wouldn't you need a reg. when just wireing the pump? on my photo you can see i have the 12 volt on mine the lite brown wire is ground and black is hot.it pumps 5/9lbs. so i used a reg. the webber should need 1 1/2 to 2lbs so i was told.

all you need is the "mr. gasket #42s" . no regulator needed . i have had one for sometime now & all is great !

I bought the pump that Macs has. It's still in the box on the shelf. My rig runs just fine on gravity. There is still about a 6" drop from the outlet on the tank to the inlet on the carb. I have literally run "dry" on fuel without a single hickup. I (albeit foolishly) let it run down so much that it took 10.966 gal to fill the tank and it was still running.

I went with Snyders pump. Before that I had a Powerflow electronic (see below) and it was junk, it leaked and died before a year went by. I would not recommend one to my worst enemy.
