Optima hold down frame

Does anyone have a picture of how to fit a 6 volt optima battery with Bratton's special hold down frame. I am looking at it and the the holes in the hold down frame and the battery support don't seem to line up? Maybe there's a "battery hold down frame guide for Dummies?" Thanks!

we wrote up that hold down in the Model A Times Vol 7 issue 1. We have it pictured with the batter diagonal in the box and using the original hold down bolts.

I just used the group 1 battery frame that I had from ---I think it was from Ricks --it was new hanging from the rafters---it is made out of 1" angle iron, fit well ----I guess it is still there---at least the battery must still be there it starts, havn't looked in years

There is another Optima Battery Hold down that is not like Bratton's and doesn't work all that well we wrote it up several years ago in the Model A Times.

I got that frame from Bert's 3 or 4 years back and the holes would not line up. Had to cut off one ear and reweld it to make it work. Now does a great job.

I don't know but suspect it is made overseas somewhere, like, maybe, China. A lot of junk today comes from there.

bought it from brattons, goes on diagonally and fit well. Needs more washers at the hold down brackets!

Gee, mine fit perfectly. I might had to add some washers and maybe put a little piece of plywood under the battery, but that was like a minute of thought five or six years ago.

i made one for a friend who has a T fits great he is pleased it is simple and uses the regular hold down clamps that are on the car

The Optima bracket from Berts is made in the USA in Denver Colorado.Dont assume things are made in China if you dont actually know they are.

I bought the Optima hold down from Bratton's. It is a clever set up and allows you to use your stock cables. By virtue of it's design you can not overtighten it using original battery box studs. I am quite happy with it.

I bought one from Brattons recently and found that I had to bend the ears slightly in a clockwise direction. It now fits great. I think adding two tubes between the top and bottom holes to stiffen when tightening may be a good idea. I will try that, but it may not be necessary.

Here is the Bratton's bracket holding the Optima battery in a Model A box.
