Sorry to hear the news. I'll deffinitly be keeping you in my prayers for a speedy recovery, not only that but I hope the treatment isn't too miserable for you. By the way, I'm guessing you fly from your screen name, what sort of airplanes? I fly Piper Navaho Cheiftains for a 135 company out of boeing field. Clear skies my friend. Wish you well.

I've been offline all day and just logged in......so many messages of support - pretty overwhelming and something that makes us feel very good about where this episode in my life is headed. Thank you all.

Frankie, Keith and others from the WCMAFC - my cell works here - believe it's listed in the roster - feel free to call to see if "today is a good day for visitors." It's been nice thus far, though some of the days ahead may not work so well! Thanks for asking.

Barry - our plan is to be at Old Sturbridge Village June 2!

Aaron - I am qualified in the Cesna 152, Cesna 172 and Piper Warrior. Strictly non-commercial flying for fun. It's been a while since I had the ambition to fly - maybe getting over this disease will rekindle my interest. :)

Thank you all.....I'll try to get on here from time to time with updates and other Model A posts - good entertainment! God bless you all.

Dave

One my best friends is in his late 60's & had same experience almost 10 years ago & all is well & he feels as well as before he was ever treated, so hang in there & we will all keep you in our prayers.

Nice! Even flying for fun takes some dedication and I know you've worked hard for that and you must love it to have earned a rating or two. Unfortunately costs have gone nowhere but up lately, especially with Avgas around $6 a gallon most places. I have flown the 152 and 172 a handful of hours and have rented them for fun, but the bulk of my single engine time is in the Piper Warrior. I did my primary training and flight instructed in the Piper Warrior and have 822 hours in Warrior time alone. I also flew the arrow and seneca quite a bit in my instructing days. After a short stint flying Dash 8's for US Airways Express Now I'm back in the northwest close to family flying medical specimens, bank documents, pharmacuticals and occasionally UPS cargo on a Navaho Cheiftain and occasionaly the Piper Seneca. Among the many things I like about my job is that its single pilot and I get real hands on time rather than punching buttons. I'm also home daily and have weekends off so I'm not too anxious to fly something big and shiny. I've been doing this for 4 years and the QOL is great and I like and respect who I work for so thats worth something to me.

Its good to have some goals in mind post treatment so whether thats enjoying family time, hopping in an airplane for a sunday flight or working on the Model A its good to have something to look forward to. Best wishes.

-Aaron

P.S. Here are a few pics of my office view. :D Hopefully that helps motivate you! Find a good instructor or pilot friend when you are well and hop up there for a while, finish a Biannual Flight Review or something to reward yourself for finising the battle.
