Allen,

5L430 is 43 inch belt

5L440 is 44 inch belt

they measure about 5/8 across for use with Model A wide pulleys.

Not sure this is a NAPA number but they can cross these numbers.

If you have an alternator, I suggest the Gates BX40. It has "teeth" on the inside, which allow it to make the sharp bend around the small alternator pulley, and really grips well, without over tightening.

I just went to my NAPA store and asked for a '31 Ford belt.

I think the 5 in those two numbers indicates 5/8" belt width. And my NAPA store used them directly..
