34 clutch slip

Hi Ford Men, I have experienced some slip when I climb a steep hill or put the pedal down with avengence the clutch normally works fine no shudder sweet gear changes and adjustment seems ok the pressure plate appears to be reconditioned the clutch plate measures approximatly 10.3 mm thick and the only thing I can see is is that it seems glazed any ideas??
 
The 34,s use the same clutch assy from 29-34 on B,s & V8.I dont know disc thickness off hand The distance from PP mounting surface to face of FW should be 1.123". some times when FW is refaced,they dont remove the same amount from PP mounting surface & you end up with decreased clamping force on the disc.I would use a later FW & PP with the centrifugal weights You will have less pedal pressure at idle ,but more clutch pressure at higher revs.
 
Thanks for the ideas the clutch plate is newish so it seems most likely the issue is that the pressure plate may not be as good as it looks one of the fingers has been doing no work so the three are out of adjustment also the grinding of FW and PP may contribute as stated, will check the measurements etc thanks again men it all helps.
 
Get a good PP from Fort Wayne Clutch in Indiana. Those fingers must be adj. by the rebuilder they have the equiptment to do so.ken ct.
 
It sounds like you have the latter pressure plate with the 3 fingers , send it up to me and I will set it up for you at no charge .Ted

What you will like a lot better, have that outside flange machined off the FW flush with the clutch surface and have the FW redrilled for the 35 up 9in. pressure plate. Get you PP from Fort Wayne Ind. Clutch Co. I have done many. they are so much smoother than those Model A style PP. Walt

I guess your right FT, I guess his seconet post slid over my head, all I had on my my mind is 34 PP. I think he still has a bad PP. I installed one of those China ones a few yr's ago and you could not adjust it. Had to remove it and install a rebuilt US one and it was perfect. Walt
