Blobs on 36 firewall

Any care to speculate why they are there?

Yes they are original. I have the same on my 36 5W Coupe

Probably where they brazed it together. If you scratch thru and find bronze that's yer answer.

Seems like they did that on later cars (1960's) that I've had plastic media blasted. The body seams have brazed spot-welds. Maybe they did that because it required less heat than fuse-welding and if they needed to realign a panel they just melt out the bronze and do it again.

Yes, these holes are filled with rubber bumpers. Only on 36's, not 35's.

I just assumed it was the holes for the bumpers, but then you know what happens when you assume? You make as *** of you and me. lol

Oh yes these are factory all right. for 100 % correct leave the butt ugly blobs alone.

If you are calling the blobs bad weld joints, yes, if the blobs are holes for rubber bumpers, pickups don't have them, only passenger cars.

The blobs are on my 36 also, but There are three blobs across the seam rather than two. Had to be on a Monday. Charles
