Flathead V8 - Roadster Ride

Whew!!! I really enjoyed that ride, wonderfully video'd, beautiful countryside in Penn., sweet sounding, that was terrific.... I thank you.

So as a newbie I have some questions. I watched you make a full stops ( except for at the 8 sec mark) before putting the truck into first gear again. My understanding is that is the way to use this transmission. I haven't driven mine yet as the engine is still being built. I think it's the same for reverse also. Can you come out of reverse while the truck is still rolling back?

yes you can come out of reverse, bou you need to stop completely before you can drop it into first gear.

i love your car, someday i wont to get one! i don't think that i am smart enough to build one completely from parts

Yesterday when I watched the video, I forgot to mention in my thread was did you all notice the rabbit that crossed the road as he went off the pavement onto the dirt road? The rabbit crossed about 40ft ahead of him, and it's before he goes pass'd his garage the first time to take you on the long trip.....

Brendan, I am more than sure you are smart enough to build your own roadster from scratch, there is so much information and parts equiptment out there and with your vast knowledge you are a shoe in.... Remember when you converted the 51 to accept the 302, c4 not much different. Besides everyone on the barn helps out.

You can double clutch a downshift by blimping the throttle to slide it into first without coming to a complete stop.

the inspiration i needed to make time to get in the garage tomorrow to work on my roadster...thanks zach!
