Roadster Door

Gentlemen:

The drivers door on my roadster seem a little tight. It closes just fine, but when I open it, it sticks and I have to push with my right hand as I hold the lever down with my left. Hinges are snug, i.e., no wiggle or slop.

Not being a body and fender man i'm not shure of how to correct this. Can anyone offer a suggestion or two?

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,

Thank you for your reply.

The door is so snug that there isn't room to install the rubber bumpers.

Thom, is that an original body? I have a Brookville and the right door is tight like that. i've done about all I can do and it seems the opening on the right is slightly shorter than the left and the right door needs to be slammed shut to close.

Of the door gap is tight at the top but wider at the bottom it's simply a body shimming issue. If the gap is evenly tight top to bottom there are issues with the floor side sill which is not so easy to deal with on a "finished" car. This may or may not be related to your original question. The original question about the handle may be a door latch with excessive internal wear.
