Can someone show me a picture of how the front and rear fender braces attach to the fender and the truck/body on a 39 half ton pickup? These are the small fender braces that attach to the fender edges.
Thanks, Seth

I figured out the rear ones, but have the same questions about the fronts. also am having problems getting the shift lever on the top end loaded transmission properly placed. any suggestions?

Just to be clear, you can't get the top bolted down on to the transmission case? Or can't get the shift lever placed into the transcover?

Seth, It may take a few day's but can shoot you some pic's of my old fenders with the braces and some of my pre-tear down pic's. Think some of my recent pic's show the larger fender/headlight support. Scott

Pic's of the larger fender/headlight bucket support. Still searching for the pre-resto pic's, hope these help:D Don't give me grief about that ac delco battery, it's a temp!!

I just started that area today. My 39 PU front fenders look as though the rear brace is welded to the sheet metal! I don't see any holes where a bolt would have held the brace in place.

There should be a tab with a hole in it on the fender edge along the bottom of the wheel opening (behind the wheels) for both front and rear fenders. The brace bolts there and then to the cab (for the front small braces) and then to the bed/frame??? for the rear fender braces. It it the rears that I'm not sure if it bolts to the small hole in the frame or the bed?

Scott, that is one clean looking job so far! What brand and size of tires are you running? Radials or Bias Ply? We are looking at Diamond Back 6.50x16's, radials.
