Hello! I am very new to this website. I have a Model A (I believe its a 30 - 31). It was disassembled 10 years ago and the frame and ancillary components have been blasted and Powder-Coated. I know I will be needing several parts, but cannot find any (exploded view assembly drawings). All the websites I have been on want me to buy this or that restoration book. I am not opposed to purchasing a manual, but dont know which one is the best "bang for the buck". Also, if there is a drawiing of the chassis and related components out there (without spending $$), I would appreciate it if anyone can help me with a pdf, or link to research. I have attached a picture of the frame, as it is currently. This is the beginning of an exciting project with my daughter! THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!!

Jimmy

I am in the same boat. I bought a rolling chassis that still needs assembly and some redoing. I'm only a couple of steps ahead of you. I have some old books written like the Old Testament. There are more user friendly ones like the series from The Restorer magazine, and this selection from Mike's "A" Ford Able Parts. They are not cheap, but the information will always be there to call on.

Looks like you have the makings of a great project there. There is a poster out that has all of the lube points from the vendors which may help you.

You are going to need a few books because each has information the other does not. My first book was Jim Schild's Restorer's Model A Shop Manual. Helped a lot for starters, but more info was needed. Now Les Andrew's Model A Mechanic's Handbook is also available. The MAFCA Restorer has a series of restoration books. Get Volume One for basic overview. Vols 2, 3 & 4 will tell you most things you need to know. Joining a local club is the best source of info. Check the MARC and MAFCA websites. And the people on this site know everything there is to know about As. What model do you have, coupe, tudor, etc?
