NOS brake drum & hub assembly?

I just recieved a brake drum & hub assembly I bought. It has original steel hub and drum. Price was right, seller said ID was around 11" and looked like it was never turned. Took a chance. Figured I could always use the hub. Not sure what I got. Need some help.

The assembly has new races with a slight rust haze that wiped off easily. , you can read a Kelsey hayes wheel manufacturing stamp on the hub flange back side through the paint, it has not been blasted, nor has from all appearences ever seen grease, or lug nuts, the inside of the hub has that nice grey patina of aged steel, the assembly is painted inside and out, the drum has not been turned but shows some adherent raised scaling on a couple of areas under the black paint, and a couple of slight raised ridges around the diameter up next to the transition to the flange face, the scailing appears to be proud of the face surface, the inside diameter ID is about 10 & 15/16". It appears that turning drum to 11" would remove the scale and ridge

My questions for the experts are,
Were the drums for replacement assemblies turned before shipping to dealers or at the dealership when it was to be installed?
Does any one know what the original inside diameter of a steel drum was before turning?
Were the the original style replacement drum & hub assemblies made by ford or by kelsey Hayes for Ford?
Is it possible this could be an NOS assembly in this day & age?

Thank you,

Tim

It doesn't sound like anything I've ever seen or heard of. Original steel drums were never turned as the surface was "rolled" to final size providing a hardened surface. They were 11" before assembly to the hub and remained as such. The dealers were instructed to NOT turn the steel drums. Of course folks have been doing so for 75+ years.

I'd sure like to see a pic as it has me intrigued. BTW, NOS drums and hubs are out there although not common. There are four LESS than there was since I completed my Roadster. :D

I haven't been lucky enough to find any NOS brake drums, but I have found some excellent used ones. Here is the Kelsey Hayes logo on one of the good used ones I bought and sandblasted.

Tom that is the stamp on the hub flange, Here are pictures. Thanks Tim

Update, After Marco's post poked around stud heads and took a closer look at the hub & drum. Not NOS. paint used to cover up remnants of grease & pitting inside drum shoe surface, I was afraid of that when I saw paint on the shoe surface but wasn't sure. That's why i asked about turning. Hub is nice though. Another learning experience, thanks to all for trying to help. Tim
